WINE EXPERIENCE IN ORVIETO
Today you explore an old Italian own – Orvieto. It is known for having one of Europe’s most architecturally important Cathedrals, the 14th century Orvieto Cathedral. Your English speaking guide will tell you about its 2,500 years of history and show magnificent Duomo. After, you will transfer to Orvieto countryside where you will visit a special winery, located in a place where the Templars favored the cultivation of the vineyards and the production of the wine greatly appreciated by the popes. This journey will let you discover the scents, flavors and history of a territory. The tasting will be combined with a careful selection of local cheeses and typical products.
After the first visit and tasting, the experience will continue in another winery, where you will be guided through ancient caves that are still used for the production of sparkling wines and for aging in barrels of red wine. The tasting will take place in a Chapel of 13th century, Santa Maria del Decugnano overlooking Orvieto and on the Umbrian valley. The wine tasting will be accompanied by a small selection of cold cuts and cheeses.
