UDINE HIGHLIGHTS

Udine is the capital of Friuli region and is also named “city of Tiepolo” the famous Venetian Baroque painter who worked here three times during his lifetime.

This charming little city has a distinctly Venetian flavor which can be noted in Piazza Libertà, where the Loggia del Lionello reminds you of the Doge’s Palace and the clock tower bears the lion of St. Mark and two moors.
We’ll stroll down the most characteristic streets and visit the 14th-century Cathedral and the Oratorio della Purità that host celebrated paintings by the last of the great Venetian artists, Tiepolo. Through its Palladio-designed passageway, we’ll then reach the beautiful castle on top of a hill from where we’ll enjoy wonderful views over the town and the unique countryside with the gorgeous Alps and beautiful hills on the background.

The tour will last 3 hours (entrance fees not included) and you’ll have about 2 hours at disposal to have lunch or to explore the city by  your own.
