Taormina is situated on a plateau in the hills overlooking the bay of Giardini Naxos. When the weather is clear, Mount Etna is visible. It is a small town with a charming and historic character. Corso Umberto with its many squares, shops, and restaurants, is centrally located. Most streets are traffic free and buses park just outside the city.
