STRAF HOTEL
Location: Milan
STRAF, situated few steps from the Duomo Cathedral, in Milan city center, was born with a new concept of hospitality, characterised by a welcoming, careful and at the same time informal service. Vincezo De Cotiis Architect used unusual materials for the Hotel, recycling objects and experimenting with the surroundings enviroment De Cotiis, creating an interior design far from the hotel industry standards.
Guest Rooms and Suites:
The Hotel has 64 rooms, that reflect two apparently diverse philosophies: extreme hi-tech functionality with a minimalist touch and the warm and intimate ambience of our central rooms in Milan, designed using refined, innovative materials such as split slate, burnished brass, concrete and iron, gauze-effect glass and aged mirrors, alongside furnishings specially designed by Vincenzo De Cotiis.
Single Rooms, Superior Doubles, Superior Twins, Standard Doubles, Comfort Doubles. All these are created with an eclectic mix of industrial materials including scratched mirrors, burnished brass, iron, slate stone and concrete. Contemporary, elegant and extremely original.
Deluxe Rooms have a dedicated health corner where guests can leave aside technology in favor of refined relaxation in the form of a massage armchair and aromatherapy and chromotherapy zones, ideally separated from the sleeping area by a glass wall.
Junior Suite is a unique setting and has an original design. It is located on the top floor with wide windows and a nice private terrace overlooking the Duomo Cathedral spires. The decor of this room is a mix of industrial materials (cement, burnished brass, resin, iron) with vintage elements such as the leather armchair and the fiberglass wall paneling with optical lens that help create a warm and cozy atmosphere. Connect this room with a suite to create an apartment of 65sqm for 4 people.
Suites. The two suites are styled very differently: one is awash in white stone with colorful stuccoes in reddish tones and the other is resplendent in black marble and fiberglass panels with black and brown tones.
Restaurant & Bar:
STRAFrestaurant – A warm and welcoming atmosphere along with a clever use of lighting. The restaurant offers a is speedy yet precise service. The menu combines traditional Italian cuisine with international favourites such as the club sandwich, and even fusion cooking, such as tandoori chicken bites with basmati rice, vegetarian dishes including raw vegetables, dietetic, seasonal salads, with particular attention to the seasonality of the raw material and to the use of BIO products.
In the evening and on weekends, the restaurant is available for private hire for lunches, cocktails or private dinners.
STRAFbar – An intense and exciting atmosphere, STRAFbar offers an accurate all day bar and restaurant services with an à la carte menu. The two large windows and entrance face directly out onto Via San Raffaele, bringing the outside in and viceversa, opening up the boundaries between the hotel interior and the outside. The music is an eclectic mix of vintage tracks during the daytime and more vibrant and lively sounds from dusk onwards. Our live music bar in Milan is frequented by an international and local clientele. The “street happy hour” carries on late into the evening with theme nights with live music and dj set.
Event´s Room
The events room, in front of the restaurant and next to the hall on the ground floor, is equipped with a giant screen for video projections and conferences. Thanks to the modularity and originality of its furnishings, comprising tables and stools made of recycled wood created and designed by Vincenzo De Cotiis, it is also suitable for use as a show-room. The giant colour changing screen and “textured” effect walls characterise the space, creating different sensations depending on the chosen colour.
