Day 2: HIKING FROM MONTALCINO TO SAN QUIRICO

The hike from Montalcino so San Quirico d’Orcia is set between vineyards and grain fields. The perfect trail for quiet contemplation that will provide a wonderful frame of outstanding natural beauty. In San Quirico, visit this small, absolutely charming town with its beautiful buildings and fortified walls, shops, restaurants and cafés. There is a lot to see, the Collegiata Church, Palazzo Chigi, Church of San Francesco, Santa Maria Assunta and Horti Leonini.
Day 3: HIKING AROUND MONTEPULCIANO

Montepulciano is perched on a hill and the entire town slopes at a steep gradient culminating in the magnificent Piazza Grande which houses the Communal Palace and the main cathedral. The town offers many interesting medieval and Renaissance churches, and buildings to explore along with narrow side streets and alleyways that take you to magnificent viewpoints of the surrounding countryside.
Start in Montepulciano’s Piazza Grande and take the panoramic path to Porta dei Grassi, where you will encounter the Tempio di San Biagio. The path follows the mountain ridge and leads you through the Nobile vineyards to the oratory of Sant’Anna in Via dei Colli, in the foothills of Montefollonico. Stop in Montefollonico for lunch. Return by the same route.
The tour and lunch will last about 5 hours.

Day 4: HIKING BADIA A CONEO – SAN GIMIGNANO

The bike tour in the wine region of Brunello starts in Montalcino, riding on paved and unpaved roads, through vineyards and woods.
Along the route we’ll visit the abbey of Sant’Antimo, the most significant architectural monuments of Romanesque style and wonderful example of monastic building of the early twelfth century.
During the bike tour we’ll stop in a local winery where the Brunello wine making process is explained (harvest, fermentation, bottling, storage). Visit and wine tasting last approximately 1h 30 min and the tasting includes 3 wines.

Day 5: HIKING TOUR GRACCIANO – ABBADIA ISOLA – MONTERIGGIONI

The bike tour in Val d’Orcia, UNESCO world heritage site, will make unforgettable your Tuscan holiday, riding surrounded by the typical rolling hills and visiting small villages like Pienza, Bagno Vignoni and San Quirico d’Orcia.
During the ride we’ll visit a cheese farm and taste different samples of sheep and goat cheeses made from raw-milk, included the famous Pecorino di Pienza. The cheese production, from hand-milking to the final product, will be also explained meanwhile you stay in relax on the terrace with breath-taking views.
After the farm we’ll follow the valley direction Bagno Vignoni, charming town where you will have lunch in a local restaurant.

Day 6: HIKING TOUR MONTE VOLTRAIO – VOLTERRA

before to reach Monte Oliveto, Benedictine abbey located on a hill covered by cypress trees, in a strategic position in the middle of Accona desert. Monte Oliveto is one of the most important religious sites in Tuscany, for territorial and historical importance.
The standard tour includes a lunch in a local restaurant not so far from the abbey.

Day 7: TRANSFER TO FLORENCE

Transfer to Florence and check in to your new hotel.

Your local English-speaking guide will show you the most popular and important sites in Florence: The Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Uffizi, the Accademia, The churches of Santa Maria Novella and Santa Croce. Wander some of the oldest streets in the city until you reach the Arno River, cross the Ponte Vecchio, one the Florence’s symbols, and experience the “newest” area of Florence, the Oltrarno.
